Design Studio, Interior Designer Amanda Burcham!
As one of the design experts in our Design Studio, Amanda’s job is to make sure each and every one of our home buyers has an amazing experience. “I love getting to help people create the beautiful homes where they will live their lives, and make lifelong memories with friends and family!”
Because Amanda gets to know each of our homeowners so well, it’s time to turn the tables and get to know more about Amanda; everything from her background to where she finds inspiration to how she wants homeowners to feel after meeting with her. Here we go!
What is your background? I’m from Rogers, Arkansas. I graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelors in Interior Design. I worked in Commercial Design for two years, then Home Remodeling for two years. And I’ve been with Buffington almost a year.
What made you interested in becoming an interior designer for a new home builder?
A new home is a blank canvas. Though the builder might tell you what size the canvas is, there are hundreds of options to make it your own!
How do you want home buyers to feel after leaving their appointment with you?
Confident that they are going to love their new home! This is such an exciting process and everyone at Buffington Homes wants you to feel confident that we are with you every step of the way.
What are some of the most popular design trends or styles that you’ve seen lately?
Color! Whether it’s the kitchen backsplash, cabinets or kitchen island, accent walls, etc. We are still using neutral palettes with an intentional use of color to bring life into the home before furniture and other finishes are even brought into the space!
What is your best advice for someone who isn't sure what their style is? Don’t just go with the current trends. Reflect more on the elements of exteriors or interiors that you like or dislike. Try to find the details that appeal to you, whether it’s color, high or low contrast, plumbing and lighting fixtures, etc. You will be surprised how quickly you can find what you like and dislike in different elements of design to tune in your own design style.
What are three words to describe yourself?
Detail-Oriented // Cheerful // Passionate
Where do you find your inspiration?
Whether it is nature, places, people, fashion, or the web, you can find inspiration almost anywhere.
What’s on your 2018 bucket list?
Personal: Go to my first NFL game! See Bruno Mars in concert! Rescue/adopt a puppy!
